A Wintry Banquet

I wanted to paint a soft, peaceful winter scene and that’s about all I had in my mind, to begin with. This is one of the few paintings that I started without a clear idea of what was going to be on the canvas. The barn came next, because a red barn and white snow is always a winner! ha! From there I played with a number of ideas, but eventually ended up going with a common scene around my neck of the woods….a hay field with a few deer getting an easy meal. It’s simple and very peaceful. Mission accomplished!
