Description of He Who Seeks A Vision

Since early childhood, I have always had great respect for Native Americans. Their history and culture were the focus of my childhood imagination and early artwork. As an adult, artwork involving the Plains Indians has been a recurring
theme. ‘He Who Seeks A Vision’ was my way of honoring Native American religious practices. I wanted to depict a proud warrior or possibly a medicine man seeking guidance from The Great Spirit. In his hand, he holds a smudging fan made of eagle feathers and by his side you see a sacred buffalo skull. I imagined he is seated on a lonely mountain top, focused and centered, awaiting his vision.
