Morning Mist

The soothing atmosphere is the quality that makes this painting sing. The sun coming up in the thick mist creates a misty hint of another shoreline with trees, while the foreground is dominated by the glassy water gently lapping at the canoe. The viewer gets to create their own narrative as to why the canoe is there and who paddled it to that place.
